These short a books are the first stories in our series.  There are 5 books to help students to practice short a words.  Young readers will need to be familiar with consonant sounds in order to read these short vowel books.  The funny, surprising pictures give young readers a chance to meet some of our sweet Surprise Decodable characters.  Each book includes instructional ideas and vocabulary building activities.
